It became known about the possible location of the killer and the customer of Kiva's murder in Russia

The customer of the murder of ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Ilya Kiva in December 2023 and his killer could have remained in Russia. On February 28, law enforcement agencies reported this after the completion of the investigation of the criminal case against businessman Araik Amirkhanyan, suspected of complicity in the murder of Kiva.

"One of the priority versions of the location of the customer and the killer of Ilya Kiva remains the territory of the Russian Federation, which they could not leave after committing the crime in order to complicate the work of law enforcement officers," TASS quoted the law enforcement officers as saying.

The materials of the case against the organizer and the perpetrator of the murder have been separated into separate proceedings, and the verification of the investigation versions continues. In the near future, Amirkhanyan's case will be sent to the regional prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment. If no violations are found in the investigation, the materials will be transferred to the Moscow Regional Court.

Kiva's body was found on December 6, 2023 at the Velich Country club in a park near Moscow. Then the killer fired twice, approaching the politician from behind. The first bullet hit the heart area, the second one hit the head.

Later, on December 11, 2023, it was reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had been preparing an operation to eliminate Kiva for a long time. Her agents studied all possible details of the routes of the former MP, his daily routine and habits.

On September 16, 2025, a court in the Moscow Region arrested Amirkhanyan as part of the investigation into Kiva's murder until November 2. On October 30, the court extended the measure of restraint for Amirkhanyan. It was noted that the businessman will remain in custody until December 6.
