Teriberka has become a "star" among the Arctic territories
The village of Teriberka on the Kola Peninsula has become a real "star" among tourists among the Arctic territories. Sergey Romashkin, ATOR's vice president for domestic tourism and CEO of the Dolphin tour operator, told RT about this.
According to him, the Arctic occupies a significant part of Russia. However, this vast strip is in uneven demand among travelers — from several tens of thousands of tourists per year in Chukotka to a million in the Murmansk region.
Thus, the Arkhangelsk Region occupies the second place in popularity, writes the Bi-port news agency. The northern regions of Yakutia are next by a wide margin, Romashkin added.
According to the expert, tourists prefer places with developed infrastructure and want weather comfort, so 80-85% of them visit the Arctic regions in the summer.
The motives for trips to the North are often the local nature, the coast of the Arctic Ocean and ethnographic tourism. The cities of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk also attract people with naval museums, monuments and history, the expert concluded.
In addition, the cities of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk themselves, being cities of military glory, attract tourists with naval museums, monuments and history, he concluded.
Earlier it was reported that at the end of January, a bus was launched that connected Teriberka with Murmansk Airport. The total cost of the trip from the starting point to the final destination will be 776 rubles.
