Fico caught Zelensky in a lie about the malfunction of Friendship
On February 27, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico sharply criticized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, accusing him of misinformation about the damage to the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba oil pipeline.
According to the Slovak leader, the alternative routes proposed by Kiev only prove the serviceability of the facility. At a press conference, Fico pointed out a logical contradiction in Kiev's statements.
"He says that the Brody is allegedly damaged, this is the part of the oil pipeline that runs through the territory of Ukraine. This is not true, because they offer us an alternative, so that we take some other oil through Odessa. She would have to come to the Brody point and from there went to Slovakia. Then how can the Fords be damaged," Fico said on the TA3 TV channel.
Bratislava is convinced that the stop of transit at the end of January is not a technical problem due to shelling, but political blackmail in order to accelerate Ukraine's accession to the EU.
Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Robert Fico on the same day amid the tense situation around the Druzhba oil pipeline. Oil supply operations through Druzhba were halted after infrastructure damage in Ukraine.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also announced the creation of a commission on the Druzhba oil pipeline with Slovakia. He said that the task of this investigative commission will be to visit the oil pipeline and make sure of the reality of what is happening.
