Nutritionist Natalia Pavlyuk spoke about the unexpected health risks of pistachios. In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, February 27, the specialist said that the negative properties of pistachios are primarily associated with a high salt content.
She explained that if people additionally suck on the peel, a large amount of excess salt gets into the body, which increases the risk of arterial hypertension.
The expert also noted that excess salt causes swelling in many people. In addition, she stressed that some people are allergic to pistachios, adding that nuts are generally considered one of the most powerful allergens, especially sesame and peanuts.
Pavlyuk recommended that if you feel well, limit your intake of pistachios to about 50 grams per day.
