- The Charge d'affaires of Russia spoke about Poland's campaign to completely "abolish" the Russian Federation
Poland has launched a campaign to totally "abolish" Russia. This was announced on February 27 by Charge d'affaires of the Russian Federation in Poland Andrei Ordash.
"Since 2022, a campaign has been launched here for the total "abolition" of Russia and its culture. The society is gripped by espionage at the instigation of the authorities," he said in an interview with TASS.
According to the ambassador, in Poland, the author of a social media post calling for building relations with Russia can, at best, be made the object of public defamation, and at worst, be imprisoned.
Ordash added that in 2022-2023, the number of cases of domestic discrimination against Russians, including employees of Russian foreign institutions, increased in Poland. At the same time, he stressed that currently the number of such cases has decreased, and the embassy has informed Polish law enforcement agencies about the most "egregious incidents."
"However, their reaction, to put it mildly, left much to be desired. The overall situation regarding the observance of the rights of our compatriots in Poland remains difficult," the Ambassador concluded.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 1 that Russophobic sentiments still prevail in Poland. According to him, Poles and residents of the Baltic states occupy the first rows in the "train of Russophobes."
Prior to that, on January 17, Ordash noted that Russia was struggling with the "historical amnesia" of Warsaw, which began to forget about the actions of Nazi troops on its territory. He also stated that representatives of European countries specifically block those sources of information that talk about the Nazi occupation of Poland and other countries.
