Pakistan has attacked Paktia province in Afghanistan. This was reported on February 27 by the Afghan Ariana News channel, citing security sources.

"The Pakistani military regime attacked civilians in the Dandpatan area of Paktia province," the TV channel said in a post on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Mohammad Hanif Atmar, a former national security adviser to the Afghan government, called Pakistan's attack on civilian targets "cowardly and aggressive" and described them as a violation of principles and rules accepted by the international community.

On the same day, fighting resumed on the Afghan-Pakistani border, and a Pakistani military base near the city of Naushera was attacked. The Afghan Defense Ministry confirmed attacks on Pakistani military installations, including a military camp near Faizabad in Islamabad, military positions in Jamrud and other facilities in Abbottabad.

Later, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, said that Russia was concerned about the sharp escalation of hostilities between Pakistan and Afghanistan and called on the parties to abandon confrontation. The text of the statement noted that as a result of what was happening, dead and wounded people were recorded on both sides, including civilians.
