Scientists have reported the return of the Sun to a state of depression

Two active groups of sunspots have lost activity, and the star is returning to a state of prolonged depression. This was announced on February 27 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"The sun is gradually returning to its initial state of depression, from which even the appearance of two active groups could not bring it out," the laboratory said in a message on its Telegram channel.

According to scientists, one of the groups of spots, in which six outbreaks of the highest level occurred, will be absorbed within 5-10 days. Another active center, after a series of almost 20 outbreaks, soon "also completely exhausted."

At the same time, geomagnetic activity is now determined by a weakly perturbed solar wind, so the geomagnetic index has been slightly increased and the Earth's magnetic field remains calm.

Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported on February 25 that the Sun had its strongest flare since the anomalous release of energy in early February. It is noted that more than 10 outbreaks occurred during the day, whereas the day before there was only one, and on Monday, February 23, there were zero.
