The death toll from a gas explosion in a cafe in Kazakhstan has increased to seven
Seven people, including a minor girl, died as a result of a gas explosion and a fire in a cafe in Shchuchinsk in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan. This was announced on February 27 by the press service of the regional administration.
"Seven people died (one of them is a 16—year-old girl). 13 people are in the Burabay regional hospital. Six people have been sent for outpatient monitoring," the press service said in a Telegram channel.
It is specified that emergency services are working at the scene, in addition, ambulances have been sent to the cafe. The causes of the incident are being determined.
On February 26, the Department of Emergency Situations of the Akmola region reported that an explosion of a gas-air mixture occurred in a cafe in Shchuchinsk, which led to a fire. The fire was completely extinguished, the specialists managed to remove eight gas cylinders from the building, as well as evacuate ten people.
