Participants of the Maslenitsa festival, held in Moscow, donated part of the proceeds to the soldiers of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on February 27 on the website of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. mos.ru .
Entrepreneurs who worked at the festival venues allocated money for the purchase of necessary goods for the military. Many entrepreneurs help out regularly by sending their products and funds to charities.
Almaz Mukhametshin, a beekeeper, began collecting humanitarian supplies from the first days of his military operation, handing over honey and other bee products to the fighters. His nephew is also serving at the front. Mukhametshin continues to send parcels of groceries for every holiday.
Businessman Nazar Belonogov delivers humanitarian supplies, including food and cars. Recently, his team sent a UAZ for the military to the front. He continues to help by purchasing essential supplies.
"We are with them (military personnel. — Ed.) in constant contact. As soon as they tell us what needs to be purchased, we immediately do it and ship it. These are mainly basic necessities and protection for the front line," Belonogov said.
Chefs from Moscow restaurants also joined the fundraiser by preparing Shrovetide treats. All the proceeds were donated to the needs of the SVO fighters.
Many small business owners participating in the festival donate their products or funds to help military personnel, as well as collaborate with volunteers to deliver humanitarian supplies to the front.
On February 26, Moscow volunteers handed over more than 5 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and gifts dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day to the participants of the special operation. It was clarified that local residents received food, personal hygiene products, children's goods and stationery, gift sets and warm clothes.
