The House of Representatives Oversight Committee is to summon American leader Donald Trump for questioning in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein. This was announced on February 26 by former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"If this committee is serious about finding out the truth about Epstein's human trafficking crimes, it will not rely on press statements. <...> He (the committee. — Ed.) would understand the reports that the Department of Justice withheld the results of FBI interrogations in which the victim accuses President Trump of heinous crimes," she said during a speech to the committee.

On February 26, Clinton said she had no information about Epstein's crimes and had never visited his properties. In an affidavit she published on Twitter, she stressed that she had not met with Epstein.

Kirill Dmitriev, special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), in turn, accused Clinton of lying after her statement about her lack of ties with Epstein.
