As a result of a military clash on the Pakistani-Afghan border, 58 Taliban were killed and more than 100 were injured. This was reported on February 26 by GEO TV channel with reference to law enforcement agencies.

"As a result of [the clash], up to 72 soldiers of the Afghan Taliban regime were killed, and more than 100 were injured, security sources said on Friday," the publication says.

On February 26, a representative of the Taliban movement of the 201st Khalid ibn Walid Army Corps reported that armed clashes had occurred on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is specified that the battle broke out between the border units of the two countries in the Nazyan area of the Afghan province of Nangarhar near the Durand line.

On February 26, the Pakistani authorities denied the death and capture of their soldiers as a result of a clash on the border with Afghanistan. The official representative of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Musharraf Zaidi, noted that as of 23:40 local time (21:40 Moscow time), no damage or seizure of Pakistani border posts had been recorded.
