72 thousand students participated in the environmental literacy competition "Green Credit" in 2026. This was announced on February 26 by Alexey Nechaev, head of the New People party faction in the State Duma.

"Together with the Compass Foundation, we are summarizing the results of the competition, as you can see, the "Green Offset". This year, 72,000 students and schoolchildren took part, which is more than last year. It is very good when there is such a positive trend," he said.

According to Nechaev, the contest participants are people who show interest in everything related to nature. The head of the faction added that the beginning of the second stage of the Environmental Olympiad shows the attitude of Russians to what is happening in the country and the world.

"People don't sit in themselves, but live in life. And I believe that in general, love for the Motherland does not begin with the fact that we listen to the anthem, or raise the flag, or even sing it, but with the fact that we do not throw away garbage, some animals that are near us, or help in periods," he said.

Nechaev added that over the past year, 100,000 members of the New People party have taken part in various actions related to animal welfare and garbage collection. According to the head of the faction, it is necessary to continue to take part in such events.

"And, of course, coverage is still insufficient, because the more people believe that the world around them is their concern, the more important it is," he stressed.
