The WSJ has revealed the US conditions for concluding a nuclear deal with Iran
Washington intends to demand that Tehran eliminate three nuclear facilities and transfer all stocks of enriched uranium. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on February 26, citing American officials.
It is noted that we are talking about the shutdown of facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. In addition, in order to conclude a new deal, the United States may insist on Iran's continued compliance with the terms of the agreement without the possibility of phasing out restrictions, as stipulated by the agreement signed during the administration of former President Barack Obama.
"This may be the last chance to make a deal. Otherwise, the United States will solve by military means what it cannot resolve through diplomacy," said Said Golkar, an associate professor at the University of Tennessee.
At the same time, American officials admitted that the negotiating group could make concessions and allow Iran to resume operation of the nuclear reactor in Tehran, which is capable of processing uranium for medical purposes.
The third round of indirect Iranian-American negotiations on the nuclear dossier started on February 26 with the mediation of Oman in Geneva. The Iranian delegation was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Abbas Araqchi, and the American delegation was led by the special envoy of the head of the White House, Stephen Witkoff.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 19 that Russia sees an "unprecedented escalation" around Iran and hopes for a diplomatic solution to the conflict with the United States.
