The State Duma adopted a law on mandatory genomic registration of the military

At the plenary session on February 26, State Duma deputies adopted in the second and third readings a bill proposing the introduction of mandatory genomic registration of certain categories of military personnel and law enforcement officers.

It is specified that changes are being made to the law "On State Genomic Registration in the Russian Federation." Currently, genomic registration is mandatory for criminals serving sentences, persons under administrative arrest, suspects, unidentified persons whose biological material was obtained during the investigation, as well as for relatives of people who have gone missing.
