The ROSSETI Group will allocate more than 4.7 billion rubles for the modernization and development of the electric grid infrastructure of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in 2026. Investment plans were discussed at a meeting in Moscow by Dmitry Artyukhov, Governor of the region, and Andrey Ryumin, CEO of PJSC ROSSETI.

"Yamal is currently in an active phase of development: we have accelerated the construction of social facilities — schools, hospitals, kindergartens, residential buildings — and intend to preserve them. At the same time, we are extensively updating the engineering infrastructure in cities and towns. Any construction and new neighborhoods require a corresponding increase in energy capacity," Artyukhov said. He called cooperation with Rosseti one of the key elements in creating a comfortable and reliable environment in Yamal.

Ryumin noted that Yamal is of particular importance for the development of Russia, providing about 80% of natural gas production. Therefore, many major ROSSETI projects are related to the power supply of production clusters and improving the reliability of transmission to the region of the largest power generation in Western Siberia, including Urengoyskaya and Surgutskiye GRES.

"In recent years, Yamal has also been associated with social growth — the population is increasing here, successful educational projects are being implemented, and new professional opportunities are being created for people. Therefore, now many of our tasks are related to the power supply of residential areas under construction in the capital of the region, Tarko Sale and other cities. So, in 2026 we plan to put into operation a new substation for the Obdorsky microdistrict in Salekhard," Ryumin said.

The meeting discussed the functioning of the grid complex during the winter season. The main reason for technological disruptions in the Far North is the climatic factor. In 2025, in preparation for the heating period, in addition to the main activities, ROSSETI carried out work to increase the resistance of the Yamburgsky and Salekhardsky power transmission lines to wind loads and the formation of ice and frost deposits.
