Euroclear has filed a closed-door complaint against the Central Bank's lawsuit.
The Belgian depository Euroclear has filed a closed-door complaint against the claim of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. This was confirmed on February 26 by the data in the file of arbitration cases.
It is noted that the complaint was submitted to the Moscow court on February 13. At the same time, the case will be submitted for consideration to the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".
In January, the Arbitration Court of the capital closed the consideration of the CBRF's claim against Euroclear. Thus, the court granted the petition of the Bank of Russia. The regulator asked to close the meeting, as the case will contain materials with limited access information, in particular, bank secrecy.
At the same time, the court began considering the Central Bank's claim against Euroclear for 18.2 trillion rubles. In December last year, the chairman of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, stated that the regulator was considering the possibility of protecting its interests in international courts and arbitrations with subsequent enforcement of their acts in other countries. Euroclear itself responded by declaring its readiness to defend itself in Russian courts on claims due to the blocking of Russian assets.
