Skier Stepanova wins skiathlon at the Russian Championships
Veronika Stepanova won the skiathlon at the Russian Ski Racing Championships on February 26, which is taking place these days in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
The athlete covered the distance of 20 km in 51 minutes 48.2 seconds. The second place in the race was taken by Evgenia Krupitskaya, who lost 1 second to the leader at the finish. Alina Pekletsova rounded out the top three, 2.9 seconds behind the winner.
On the same day, at 9:00 Moscow time, a men's skiathlon will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sport-Express adds.
On February 25, Krupitskaya won the 10 km classic split start race at the Russian Ski Racing Championships. Alisa Zhambalova won the silver medal, losing 3.1 seconds to the winner.
