- The air defense of the Vostok group shot down Ukrainian air bombs flying at civilian targets
Fighters of the air defense (PVO) of the Russian Vostok group shot down several guided aerial bombs that were aimed at civilian targets in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was announced on February 26 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the ministry, the air defense systems on duty recorded timely launches of guided aerial bombs and flights of enemy reconnaissance drones in the area of a special military operation (SVO).
It is noted that the promptly identified threats were eliminated thanks to multi-channel radar stations. They allowed calculations of the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems to determine targets in advance.
The battery commander with the call sign Fanatic noted that the missile was launched preemptively, which ensured the guaranteed defeat of the target. He stressed that the information about the target was received in a timely manner. As a result, a guided aerial bomb aimed at civilian targets was destroyed during regular duty.
"Our calculation is constantly working. <...> We receive coordinates from our operators, we work on enemy targets. The signal quality is stable, <...> it allows us to perform all the assigned tasks," said a soldier of the Vostok group of forces with the call sign Tuman.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense reported that artillery crews of the 152-mm Msta-B howitzer of the 80th Guards Tank Regiment of the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Center group of Forces destroyed the temporary deployment sites of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which are located in a wooded area in the Dnepropetrovsk direction of the SVR. According to the agency, the target was found by the Unmanned Systems Unit (UAS).
