Moscow volunteers handed over more than 5 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and gifts dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day to participants of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on February 26 on the website of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"The capital continues to support compatriots in new regions. The personal participation of volunteers, many of whom are students of Moscow universities, is of particular importance in the delivery of humanitarian supplies," said Ekaterina Dragunova, Chairman of the Moscow Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy.

It is specified that the volunteers visited social institutions, took part in meetings with the youth of the DPR and other events. Food, personal hygiene products, children's goods and stationery, gift sets and warm clothes were given to local residents.

Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina said that 15 permanent headquarters of Moscow Helps and more than 30 pavilions of the project have been opened in the capital at the Winter in Moscow sites. Citizens bring clothes, products with a long shelf life, equipment for military personnel and civilians in the area of military operations, as well as in the border territories. It is noted that residents of the capital send their own things to the participants, including camouflage nets, trench candles and tactical bracelets.
