Fraudsters send SMS messages to citizens on behalf of the Gosuslugi portal, trying to obtain personal data. This was announced on February 26 by Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, federal coordinator of the Digital Russia project.

"Today, fraudsters are actively exploiting citizens' trust in government digital services, primarily the Gosuslugi portal. The scenario is simple: a person receives an SMS message allegedly from an official source with a message about "hacking", "suspicious activity" or the need to urgently confirm the data," the deputy said in an interview with TASS.

It clarifies that the scammers' priority task is to provoke the victim to call back or click on the link, after which the attackers will try to gain access to personal data.

According to the deputy, government agencies do not contact users through messengers and do not send links to log into their personal account. An offer to call an unknown "tech support" number is a sign of fraud.
