The detainees from the boat that invaded the waters of Cuba and opened fire confessed to terrorist intentions. This was announced on February 25 by the press service of the Cuban Interior Ministry.

"According to the preliminary testimony of the detainees, they intended to infiltrate for terrorist purposes," reads a Facebook post (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization in the Russian Federation).

It is specified that the detained boat, registered in Florida, was carrying 10 armed persons.

On the same day, the Reuters news agency reported that an American boat entered the waters of Cuba and opened fire on border guards, as a result of the exchange of fire, four people were killed and six were injured. At the same time, Carlos Jimenez, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, called for an immediate investigation into the incident.

Later, The New York Times noted that the boat that opened fire did not belong to the US Navy or the Coast Guard. Rubio, in turn, added that the US administration staff was not involved in the incident.
