Fraudsters have started using a new scheme of deception, calling Russians through messengers and pretending to be neighbors and using the pretext of replacing the intercom, intruders are trying to lure codes out of SMS messages. This was reported by RIA Novosti on February 26.

It is clarified that the scammers contact potential victims and report that the intercom was allegedly turned off in the entrance. The caller, posing as a resident of the house, calls a "temporary" access code and tries to win over the interlocutor, referring to complaints from other neighbors.

After that, the scammer asks you to dictate the code from the SMS message, which is supposedly necessary to replace the equipment. This is how attackers gain access to personal data or banking services.
