The next round of trilateral negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict may take place outside Geneva. This was reported to RIA Novosti on February 26 by a diplomatic source.

According to him, the final decision on the venue of the meeting has not yet been made. The interlocutor noted that various options are being considered, including the site where the previous rounds were held. Answering a clarifying question about the possible choice of Abu Dhabi, the diplomat confirmed that such a location is also being discussed. Earlier, it was in the capital of the UAE that the first two stages of the negotiation process took place.

Earlier, on February 25, it became known about the postponement of the trilateral meeting of representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine to early March. It was clarified that the venue of the negotiations is currently being agreed.

On February 18, the third round of closed-door talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States ended in Geneva. The head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, at the end of the meetings, called the trilateral negotiations difficult but constructive. Special Envoy of the President of the United States Stephen Witkoff, in turn, shared that the parties had made significant progress during the discussions.
