Seven people were killed and at least ten injured during the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Smolensk region.

Seven people were killed and at least ten injured as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a chemical plant in Dorogobuzh, Smolensk region. This was announced on February 25 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"As a result of the detonation of explosive devices, civilians were injured, of which seven people were killed, at least ten were injured," said a representative of the Investigative Committee in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The ministry clarified that seven of the injured were hospitalized in Safonovskaya and Dorogobuzhskaya CRH, and people with serious injuries were sent to the regional hospital.

On February 25, the Governor of the Smolensk Region, Vasily Anokhin, announced the death of four employees of the Dorogobuzh plant as a result of an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Later, the death toll increased to seven. On the fact of the attack, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").

The authorities of the region are deciding on the evacuation of residents of nearby areas after the strike on the enterprise. The regional government, as the governor added, will provide all necessary assistance to the families of those injured and killed in the attack.

On the same day, Anokhin announced that the fire at the chemical plant that had arisen as a result of the attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been eliminated. According to him, rescuers continue to work at the scene of the emergency, and ambulance crews are also on duty.
