Khusnullin urged to build cheaper housing in Russia
In Russia, it is necessary to build cheaper housing through the use of house kits (a set of building materials and structural elements prepared for building assembly using a specific technology). This was announced on February 25 by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.
"Of course, we need to learn how to build cheaper housing technologically in order to increase housing affordability. [The solution to the problem is] house kits. And if we have financing, we are determined to help manufacturers of house kits, including wooden house construction," TASS quoted Khusnullin as saying.
He added that in order to maintain a high pace of individual construction, it is necessary to develop urban development potential. The Deputy Prime Minister called for using land plots for this purpose, as well as preparing documentation.
In addition, according to Khusnullin, the country needs to create a communal infrastructure for the construction of houses — it should include preferential connection to electricity.
On February 17, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to update the strategy for the development of the construction industry and housing and communal services (housing and communal services) until 2030 by October 1 of this year. The Ministry of Construction was entrusted with the implementation of this task together with the federal executive authorities.
