- Filippo the politician accused the head of the European Commission of tyranny because of the loan to Ukraine
On February 25, the leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, Florian Philippot, accused the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, of tyranny over a 90 billion euro loan to Kiev.
The reason for the sharp criticism was a video in which von der Leyen promises to allocate funds to Kiev, despite the veto imposed by Hungary. The politician regarded this as a manifestation of tyranny and called for France's immediate withdrawal from the European Union (EU).
"Ursula von der Leyen, in a tyrannical attack, reminded everyone how the EU works: 'If you're against it, shut up, it's going to happen anyway,'" he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
On the eve of the publication "RBC-Ukraine" reported that the European Union will approve the allocation of a loan to Ukraine for € 90 billion, despite the blocking of this initiative by Hungary. At the same time, the allocation of the funds themselves is scheduled for the second half of March.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced on February 23 that the country had blocked the 20th package of sanctions against Russia and the allocation of a loan to Ukraine worth €90 billion due to Kiev's shutdown of the Druzhba oil pipeline. He also noted that Hungary regards Kiev's suspension of the transit of Russian oil through Druzhba as an encroachment on its sovereignty.
