In Kimovsk, Tula region, a criminal case was opened after the collapse of the roofs of two apartment buildings. The incident occurred on February 24.

According to TSN24, with reference to the press service of the TFR in the region, the roofs collapsed under the weight of the accumulated snow on them. The case was initiated under the article "Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements." The investigation is carrying out a set of actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, in mid-February, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that since the beginning of the year in Russia, two people had died from falling snow and ice from the roofs of buildings, and 13 more were injured. According to the agency, the incidents were recorded at residential facilities, social and cultural infrastructure. People were injured in Moscow, the Moscow, Tula and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The Ministry of Emergency Situations called on the regional authorities to organize immediate cleaning of the roofs of buildings in order to avoid new incidents.
