In January, 27.3 thousand passenger cars of Chinese brands were sold on the secondary market, which is 55% more than in January 2025. This was announced on February 25 by Sergey Tselikov, General Director of the Autostat analytical agency.

The share of "Chinese" in the secondary market increased to 6.3% in January 2026. The most popular brands of Chinese used cars are Chegu (6156 units, +57%), Geely (4834 units, +41%) and Haval (3684 units, +47%), Changan (1702 units, +64%) and Lifan (1524 units, +4%). The list of the most popular models includes the Cheval Jolion (1386 units, +91%), Geely Coolray (1093 units, +72%) and Geely Monjaro (927 units, +100%).

Tselikov explained the rapid growth of the Chinese car aftermarket primarily due to the low base of previous periods.
Secondly, the owners began to actively sell post-warranty cars. The share of cars manufactured in 2023 is almost a third of the market (32.1%).In addition, Russians quite often sell very fresh cars: in 2024, 21% of the production accounted for, and in 2025, another 3.4% of sales of used Chinese cars.

As a third reason for the growth of cars from China in the secondary market, Tselikov cited the rapid updating of the model ranges of Chinese brands.

The first Volga cars will be available at authorized dealerships in the third quarter of 2026. As it became known on February 19, the line will include models in the D-SUV, C-SUV and D-sedan classes, which will be produced at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod, where previously Skoda and Volkswagen cars were produced.
