Coach Urmanov and figure skater Samodelkina were given an apartment in Astana.
Russian coach Alexei Urmanov, who works with Olympic champion Mikhail Shaidorov, was given the keys to a three-room apartment in Astana. This was announced on February 25 by the press service of the Astana City Hall.
Figure skater Sofya Samodelkina and coach of the Kazakhstan national figure skating team Asem Kasanova were also given the keys to one-room apartments.
"On behalf of the Kazakhstan Figure Skating Union and with the support of sponsors, the athletes and coaches were given apartment keys," the website says.
The ceremony of handing over housing certificates took place at Astana airport after the return of the national team from Milan. The athletes and coaches were met by Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Head of the Kazakhstan Figure Skating Union Bauyrzhan Yeraly and President of the National Olympic Committee Gennady Golovkin.
On February 14, Shaidorov became the winner among men at the 2026 Olympics. Samodelkina represented Kazakhstan and took 10th place in the Olympic singles tournament.
On January 1, Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova shared that she received an unusual gift for the New Year — a Japanese blade. She noted that each pattern on the blade is a reflection of the history and skill of the samurai.
