US President Donald Trump's speech to the US Congress was the first since 2005 when the head of the White House did not mention the People's Republic of China (PRC) directly in his address. This was reported by Bloomberg on February 25.

During his speech, as noted in the text, Trump focused on domestic issues and described a "rosy picture in the economy under his leadership," skipping mentioning the trade conflict and economic competition between the United States and China.

The article notes that the last time this state was not mentioned directly was in the presidential speech of former American leader George W. Bush, which he delivered in 2005.

The authors of the material emphasize that Trump could not completely avoid mentioning China. Honoring army helicopter pilot Eric Slover, he said that Chinese air defense systems were protecting the skies over Venezuela during the operation to capture the former president of the Latin American country, Nicolas Maduro.

"Eric drove the Chinook under the cover of night and quickly descended on Maduro's heavily defended military fortress. It was a large military facility guarded by thousands of soldiers," he is quoted as saying in the article.

On February 10, the Reuters news agency announced the holding of a Sino-American summit in the first week of April. The event, as specified, will be attended by Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. American political scientist Malek Dudakov said on February 5 that Trump would try to negotiate with China on the supply of American soybeans, oil and gas.
