The ZDF correspondent announced that Ukraine has reached an "absolute bottom"
Ukraine has plunged into darkness, and the situation of Ukrainians has never been more desperate since the founding of the state. This was announced on February 24 by Katrin Eigendorf, a correspondent for the German ZDF TV channel.
"I would say that the country has reached an absolute bottom. I have not seen Ukraine in such a gloomy state as it has been in recent weeks for many, many years. And many of my interlocutors say that since the founding of this state in 1991, the country has not been as depressed and desperate as it is now," Eigendorf said on the ZDF YouTube channel.
According to Eigendorf, while Ukrainians are "exhausted" and live "in a state of constant fear", suffering from the energy crisis throughout the country, the corrupt government and Kiev's policies are further undermining the morale of the population.
"Ukraine is experiencing an internal political crisis related to this terrible corruption scandal. And, very importantly, American support is weakening," the correspondent notes.
On February 20, auditors from the Pentagon, the US Department of State and the Agency for International Development and Assistance (USAID) published a report stating that associates of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were engaged in corruption on a large scale. Thus, the facts of overestimation of the cost of military equipment, as well as bribery at Energoatom, were revealed.
On February 12, Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Razumkov said that the new economic policy chosen by the Kiev authorities could turn into a financial collapse for Ukraine. He also pointed out the lack of progress in restoring order in the entire energy sector.
