Russian cosmonaut Sergei Teteryatnikov was appointed to the main crew of the Crew Dragon spacecraft as a specialist of the Crew-13 mission, and his colleague Harutyun Kiviryan was selected as an understudy. This was announced on February 25 by the press service of Roscosmos.

"Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Teteryatnikov and Harutyun Kiviryan (open selection for the cosmonaut squad in 2021) were appointed to the crews by the decision of the interdepartmental commission," the agency said in a statement on the Telegram channel.

It is emphasized that Teteryatnikov is assigned to the main crew, and Kiviryan is assigned to the backup crew. Roscosmos clarified that the planned launch date is the second half of this year.

On February 13, the Crew Dragon spacecraft with Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev on board launched to the International Space Station (ISS) from Cape Canaveral in Florida as part of the Crew-12 mission. In addition to the Russian, NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, as well as a representative of the European Space Agency (ESA) Sophie Adeno, were in the spacecraft.

A few days before he was sent into space, Fedyaev cooked borscht and treated his team to it. Meir appreciated the prepared dish and stated that the traditional soup turned out to be very tasty.
