The Interior Ministry warned about fraudsters' attempts to "finish off" the victim after an unsuccessful deception.

Scammers can exert psychological pressure on a potential victim after an unsuccessful technical attack. On February 25, the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warned about this in the MAX messenger.

According to the agency, one of the victims was sent a file with malicious software in private messages from a hacked account. After the man downloaded the file, the program requested access to the messages, after which the man immediately turned off the Internet, deleted the file and thereby prevented hacking of the device.
