Russia has developed a guided munition with a range of more than 100 km.
Russian developers involved in the Kalashnikov concern have created the country's first KUB-10ME tactical guided ammunition system with a range of more than 100 km. This was announced on Wednesday, February 25, on the website of the press service of the concern.
"The KUB-10ME is capable of performing tasks at altitudes from 80 to 1.8 thousand meters. m with a cruising speed of 120 km/h during the day and at night, in simple and difficult weather conditions, with wind gusts up to 10 m / s, in the temperature range from -30 to +40 degrees," the message says.
It is noted that the presented device was created in record time, taking into account the experience of active use of the UB in the area of a special military operation.
It has fundamental differences from previous models — firstly, it is more secure, and secondly, it is equipped with an optoelectronic guidance system. The latter function, as emphasized, helps the KUB-10ME equipped with aerial photography and video to identify and hit targets in motion.
The development was created with the aim of countering unarmored, lightly armored military equipment and large aircraft located outside the shelter, as well as a variety of other military facilities.
On February 5, the press service of Rostec State Corporation reported on the development by their specialists of a 30-millimeter cartridge with a shrapnel shell and a remotely controlled fuse. This device was intended, as explained, to eliminate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It can also be used to counteract barrage munitions.
