- More than 1.5 thousand postcards and letters from the Southern Administrative District were sent to their home by February 23
In February, more than 1.5 thousand postcards and letters for participants of the special military operation (SVO) were handed over from the Southeastern Administrative District of Moscow. Congratulations were sent along with gifts and humanitarian supplies, the prefecture of the Southern Administrative District reported.
Schools, youth clubs, charities, sports and leisure centers from each district of the district participated in the action. For example, the public organization "Community of Marino district" has prepared over 140 postcards and about 160 letters. More than 100 residents of Maryina of different ages made 14 festive posters in the Teen club as part of the "The Power of the army is strong" campaign.
Workshops on writing messages were held at the ice rinks in Lefortovo, Maryina and Vykhino-Zhulebina as part of the Winter in Moscow project. Adults and children have prepared 725 letters. There were also reception points for humanitarian aid.
Schools and kindergartens of the Southern Administrative District also joined the campaign. For example, in the Ryazan region, students of school No. 2090 prepared 250 postcards and 400 drawings, and at school No. 777 they signed 300 postcards and made 60 drawings.
The importance of support for those who are currently solving problems in their own country was emphasized by State Duma Deputy Pyotr Tolstoy. He has been involved in collecting and sending humanitarian aid to the front lines for more than three years. "For centuries, our country has invested a special meaning in the defense of the Motherland. Today we see that the tradition is alive. Our guys are fighting on the front line, and millions of people in the rear are supporting them, some in word, some in deed. The whole country is with them. And the defender of the Fatherland today is everyone who sincerely believes in our Victory," he said.
Residents of the Southern Administrative District have been helping the participants of the special operation since 2022. During this time, more than 100 tons of humanitarian supplies were collected in the district, about 7.5 thousand camouflage nets were woven and hundreds of thousands of trench candles were cast.
