Slovakia's decision to stop energy supplies to Ukraine will not affect the country's energy system in any way, according to Ukrenergo.

"The likely termination of emergency electricity supplies from Slovakia will in no way affect the situation in the united energy system of Ukraine," the Telegram channel says.

The company noted that the last time Kiev requested emergency assistance from Slovakia was more than a month ago, and in a very limited amount. According to them, supplies from the Slovak direction to the united energy system of Ukraine were rarely received.

In addition, no official documents have yet been received on the unilateral termination of the agreement on mutual emergency assistance, Ukrenergo said.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on February 23 that Bratislava would stop providing emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine in case of appropriate requests. According to him, the relevant decision comes into force on Monday, February 23. The Prime Minister did not provide any other details on possible conditions for cooperation in the energy sector.

Prior to that, on February 18, it became known that the Slovnaft refinery would suspend exports to Ukraine and focus on the domestic market.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on February 13 that Ukraine had blocked oil supplies from Russia via the Druzhba pipeline in order to complicate the situation of the Hungarian government before the parliamentary elections.
