Two suspects were detained in Serbia in preparation of an assassination attempt on Vucic.

Serbian law enforcement officials have detained two people on suspicion of plotting an assassination attempt on President Aleksandar Vucic and his family. This was reported on February 23 on the website of the press service of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is specified that the arrest was carried out by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency for Security and Information in the city of Kraljevo. The men are accused of "attacking the constitutional order."

"They are suspected of attempting to organize a violent change in the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia and the overthrow of the highest state bodies in the period from December 2025 to February 2026," the publication says.
