Moscow is calling on Washington to abandon plans to attack Iranian nuclear facilities. This was announced on February 23 by Dmitry Lyubinsky, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We call on the United States and its allies to abandon plans to attack Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities. We strongly recommend that Washington provide firm guarantees to prevent further military confrontation," he said during a high—level meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter in Geneva.

He also added that the Russian side is ready to provide the necessary assistance needed to resume the search for diplomatic solutions on the issue of Iran's nuclear program.

American leader Donald Trump said on February 20 that Iran should have made a deal with the United States. The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported a day earlier that the American leader was considering a limited strike on Iran in order to force Tehran to agree to more favorable terms of the nuclear deal for Washington, while avoiding a full-scale military conflict.

On February 19, Trump announced his readiness to give Iran 15 days to conclude a deal with the United States. According to him, 10-15 days is the maximum for reaching certain agreements.
