Russian ski mountaineer Nikita Filippov said on February 24 that he expected more awards for Russian representatives at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

"I would like our team to take more medals, but since that happened, I'm glad to be a medal bearer," the athlete said after returning to Russia.

In addition, he noted that relations with other athletes at the Olympics were normal.

Russian athletes won one medal at the 2026 Olympics. The only winner of the award was Filippov, who won silver in the sprint. In the final, the 23-year-old Russian scored 2 minutes 35.5 seconds, losing to Spaniard Oriol Cardona Kohl.
