The situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in one of the areas remains difficult. This was announced on February 23 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky.

"The situation in this area is difficult," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we are talking about one of the key areas in the "southern operational zone."

On the same day, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that the Ukrainian authorities were gradually becoming aware of the situation they were in.

Prior to that, on February 17, the Ukrainian Armed Forces prisoners said that the Ukrainian militants who were on the eastern bank of the Oskol River south of Kupyansk-Uzlovoye found themselves in difficult conditions due to a lack of supplies and the difficult situation on the contact line. They reported significant sanitary losses due to hypothermia and frostbite. In addition, Ukrainian militants are forced to be housed in unheated dugouts and trenches, partially flooded with water and mud, without adequate heating and hot meals.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
