The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the reform of mobilization
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has started preparing a comprehensive reform of the mobilization system. This was announced on February 23 by the head of the department, Mikhail Fedorov.
"We are currently working on a comprehensive mobilization reform," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the head of the department, it is planned to propose a systematic solution aimed at eliminating the problems that have accumulated over the years, while maintaining the state's defense capability. At the same time, the minister did not specify the details of the upcoming changes.
Earlier in the day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Kiev was ready to consider the transition of the army to a contractual basis and the cancellation of mobilization if the necessary funding was available. According to the Ukrainian leader, European partners can help in the implementation of such a model.
