Residents of the Omsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory celebrated Defender of the Fatherland Day

Commemorative events dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day were held in the Omsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory on February 23. Flower-laying ceremonies at memorials and the Eternal Flame, rallies and solemn marches were held in the regions.

In Krasnoyarsk, the main events took place at the Victory Memorial. The ceremony was attended by the governor of the region Mikhail Kotyukov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Alexei Dodatko, the families of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland, veterans, military personnel, cadets, cadets, representatives of public organizations and residents of the city.

The memory of the fallen was honored with a minute of silence and a volley of weapons. The event ended with the parade calculations. The solemn march was attended by representatives of military training centers of Krasnoyarsk universities, the Siberian Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, pupils of the A.I. In Omsk, commemorative actions were held in the Park named after the 30th Anniversary of Victory. The Governor of the Omsk region, Vitaly Khotsenko, took part in a rally, a flower-laying ceremony and the opening of the annual March-Throw ski run dedicated to the feat of the soldiers of the 30th separate Rifle Ski Brigade.

The participants of the event laid garlands and flowers at the monument "Siberian Mother and Son" and at the Eternal Flame at the monument to the Victorious Soldier. The memory of the victims was honored with a minute of silence and three rifle volleys, after which the national anthem of Russia was played.

Government officials, military personnel of the garrison, law enforcement officers, veterans and members of the army also participated in the celebrations in Omsk. Commemorative events on this day were held in all municipal districts of the region.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the citizens of the state, veterans and personnel of the Armed Forces on Defender of the Fatherland Day. He also noted the importance of this holiday for national unity and the preservation of military traditions. According to Putin, this day symbolizes respect for the defenders of the country and the memory of the heroic pages of history.
