Major General Lipovoy allowed provocations from the West on the border with the Russian Federation

Western countries may try to provoke a conflict with Russia by using staging on the border with NATO. This was announced on February 23 by Hero of Russia, Major General of Aviation Sergey Lipovoy.

According to him, a large-scale confrontation is possible only if Russia is involved in a pre-prepared provocation. He mentioned the situation in the border areas, including the Kaliningrad region, as a potential scenario.

"Preparations for such provocations have already been repeatedly noticed near Kaliningrad, when units dressed in Russian uniforms were seen at training grounds on the territory of the Baltic States, using Russian equipment that carried out various kinds of offensive actions, more reminiscent of provocative ones," he said in an interview with TASS.

The Major General added that, according to Russian intelligence, such scenarios of provocations are being worked out.
