The Russian Embassy in Cuba has denied information spread on social media about the alleged shipment of a tanker with 200 thousand barrels of oil from the Russian Federation to the island, accompanied by a warship. This was reported on February 23 in the Telegram channel of the diplomatic mission.

"The Russian Embassy in Cuba draws attention to the fact that the information circulating on social networks about the allegedly disseminated message of the Russian Foreign Ministry is not reliable," the message says.

The embassy stressed that the Russian Foreign Ministry had not posted such messages.

The attached photo of the fake message indicates that, as part of humanitarian cooperation, a Sea Horse tanker with a cargo of oil of more than 200 thousand barrels was allegedly sent to the shores of Cuba. It also claims that to ensure the safety of the ship and the crew, it is accompanied by a destroyer named Mad 2034.

The diplomats called for focusing exclusively on official sources of information — the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as well as verified accounts of the ministry and the Russian diplomatic mission on social networks — and not trust unverified publications.
