The closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics has begun in Verona.

On February 22, the closing ceremony of the XXV Winter Olympic Games 2026 (OI-2026) began in Italy at the Arena di Verona amphitheater.

"This Arena was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. For the first time in the history of the Winter Games, the closing ceremony is taking place in such a place," noted Sport—Express.

The ceremony itself will consist of an official part, where the athletes' parade will take place, the lowering of the Olympic flag and its transfer to the next hosts of the Winter Games, France, and a show program.

Russian athletes will take part in the Olympic parade.
