The Norwegian national team became the victor of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, topping the unofficial medal standings.

Norway has improved the records of the Winter Olympic Games in the number of awards. Prior to that, the maximum number of gold medals she won at one Olympics was 16 (the 2022 Beijing Games), and the total number of awards was 39 (the 2018 Pyeongchang Games).

In total, the winners have 18 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze medals. The USA took the second place in the final table (12 gold, 12 silver, nine bronze), and the Netherlands rounded out the top three (10 gold, seven silver, three bronze). A total of 116 sets of awards were distributed during the competition.

The Russian athletes, who competed in the number of 13 people in a neutral status and only in individual disciplines, completed the Games with one award.

Nikita Filippov, who excelled in ski mountaineering, brought the silver medal to Russia.

Earlier in the day, skier Daria Nepryaeva finished 11th, losing to the winner, Swedish Ebbe Andersson, in 8 minutes 55.2 seconds. It was noted that Norwegian Heidi Weng took second place, lagging 2 minutes 15.3 seconds, while Swiss Nadia Kelin took third place, lagging 6 minutes 41.5 seconds. However, her result was later annulled due to an athlete's mistake during the race. She drove into a box reserved for another participant and put on the skis of German representative Katharina Hennig.
