Izvestia has footage of the moment a five-year-old boy fell from a seventh-floor window in St. Petersburg.

The janitor was standing under the windows and was ready to catch the child, who was holding on to the ledge with his last strength.

The boy was falling headfirst. The man picked him up with his hands and held him tightly, cushioning the fall.

The rescue of a child by a janitor in St. Petersburg became known earlier that day. The incident occurred on Petrozavodskaya Street in the Petrogradsky district. The child was playing near the open window, and the janitor, noticing this, shouted at him to move away. After a while, the boy fell off, but managed to grab the ledge. According to preliminary information, as a result of the fall, the janitor broke his hand and ribs, but the child survived. Both victims were hospitalized.
