The USA national ice hockey team beat the Canadian team in overtime in the final match of the Olympic hockey tournament in Italy. The match ended with a score of 2:1.

Matthew Baldy (7th minute) and Jack Hughes (62nd minute) scored goals for the American team. Cale Makar scored the goal for the Canadian national team (39th).

According to the newspaper Sport-Express, the U.S. national team won Olympic gold for the first time since 1980.
