A police officer was killed in a terrorist attack in Lviv in western Ukraine.
In the west of Ukraine, a terrorist attack took place in Lviv, as a result of which a 23-year-old patrol police officer was killed, and 15 more people were injured. This was announced on February 22 by the mayor of the city Andrey Sadovy.
"Definitely, this is a terrorist act. 15 people are receiving medical care, one policewoman was killed," Sadovy said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.
According to law enforcement officials, the explosions occurred on the night of February 22 near a store on Danilishina Street. The first explosion occurred upon the arrival of the patrol crew, the second occurred when additional police forces arrived at the scene.
Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko said that law enforcement agencies had detained the likely culprit of the terrorist attack in Lviv. It is currently known that this is a woman, a citizen of Ukraine.
The investigative authorities urge residents to be careful and report suspicious objects and persons.
On February 18, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine, an explosion occurred at night in the premises of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analog of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) located in Kolomyia. It was clarified that no one was injured as a result of the incident.
