Starting from March 1, Russia plans to launch a register containing information about women receiving medical care in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in connection with pregnancy. This was reported on February 22 in a document available to TASS.

It states that the system will record the date of registration and the duration of pregnancy at the moment, information on the use of assisted reproductive technologies, as well as data on pregnancy outcome and the presence of critical obstetric conditions.

In addition, the register is planned to include information about the date and time of the child's birth, his gender, height, body weight and Apgar score. Data on the development of individual conditions in the perinatal period and on identified congenital anomalies, malformations or chromosomal abnormalities will also be reflected.

The document provides for the registration of women who have been monitored before the 12th week of pregnancy, including with the use of assisted reproductive technologies. It is planned to analyze the proportion of normal pregnancies, full-term births, cases of complications in the perinatal period and congenital pathologies identified after birth.

On February 17, Sergey Rybalchenko, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on demography, protection of family, children and traditional family values, said that pregnant women and mothers with young children should have the right to work remotely or flexibly. According to him, such measures can contribute to an increase in the birth rate.
